Gee, yesterday was HORRIBLE.

First, I totally and utterly failed my math exam. Now my grade in the class is a C. I could forget getting a DS for christmas now

Then, there was my creative writing class. I wrote a short story about a girl named Melissa who just graduated from high school. She was shopping at the mall with her 4-yr-old sister when suddenly her little sis was kidnapped by a bunch of shady characters in suits. The men in suits pay a bunch of people to throw Melissa off their trail but eventually, after squeezing one of the guys, they leak a little info and Melissa finds out that if she calls the police, the men in suits will kill her little sis. So she has to chase the men through the mall herself. At the end, she tracks down the man who's holding her sis captive. She discovers this man is her ex-dentist (I made him a dentist because I used to be deathly afraid of the dentist ) and now he's running a reality TV show called "What would you do for your Family" and that he had kidnapped Melissa's sister to see how much she meant to her. I thought the ending was great: the dentist says "It's just a game, you don't have to get all worked up." and Melissa says, "Worked up?!" and she punches him in the face.
But what did my teacher have to say about my story?
In his exact words, he said, "It sounds like a gimmick." He also said the ending dropped dead.
EXCUSE ME?
You don't say that to a student!

After the teacher had said this to me I felt soooo depressed. I cried when i got home and i said to myself: I can't do art, and now my writing is bad too! English has always been my best subject and I could get an A on an essay without trying. This incident made me feel worthless.

But now I see, that what he says doesn't matter. The guy doesn't even have a teaching credential for crying out loud! It was just his opinion: he didn't like the story. I'm not sad about what happened anymore...now I'm just angry.
